The wedding of BJP MLA Golu Shukla’s son, Anjanesh Shukla, in Indore has drawn widespread attention after videos from the ceremony went viral on X and other social media platforms. The visuals, highlighting the sheer scale and luxury of the celebrations, have sparked a broader debate on extravagance and privilege.

The viral clips showcase a sprawling venue, lavish décor and a large gathering of guests, including several prominent personalities. One widely shared video even claimed that around Rs 70 lakh was spent on fireworks alone, adding to the buzz around the event’s opulence.

Unlike many contemporary wedding setups, the venue followed a strong religious theme, featuring grand idols of Hindu deities. A large idol of Lord Shiva was placed above the main stage, where the couple exchanged garlands during the varmala ceremony.

A major highlight of the wedding was the elaborate fireworks display held after the varmala. As guests looked on, the sky was illuminated by fireworks, turning the spectacle into one of the most talked-about moments of the celebration. Clips of the display were among the most circulated visuals online.

According to an NDTV report, Anjanesh Shukla wore a heavily embroidered sherwani for the occasion, while the bride, Simar, was dressed in traditional attire designed by Rimple & Harpreet.

Natizens Reacted To The Video  

The video of the wedding followers congratulated the couple, others have slammed the extravagant event, saying public money was wasted.

"The Rs 70 lakh were taxpayers' money," read one of the comments. 

"Why are only small businessmen exposed? Why isn't the income tax department sparing people like him?" questioned another user.

A third user wrote, “Public service, private extravagance. Rs 70 lakh on fireworks while citizens surrender income Austerity for taxpayers, royalty for power.” 

“Just another day of Nepo-Kids having fun with our Tax Money,” another user wrote.
