CM Reddy stated that he called a meeting with commissioners and had discussed this proposal last week.
"All establishments except liquor shops are allowed to remain open till 1 am in Hyderabad," the CM said.
The move comes after Hyderabad police in June clarified that the social media news making rounds that city police are closing shops by 10.30 pm or 11 pm is misleading.
"The recent social media news making rounds that city police are closing shops by 10.30 or 11 pm are totally misleading. The shops and establishments will open/close as per the already existing rules only. Hence the same may be noted by all," the Hyderabad City Police said in a post on X.
Several media reports before this claimed that an order was issued for the commercial establishments asking them to close by 11 pm. However, there was no official order in this regard but the reports sparked anger as people took to X questioning the reasoning behind the same.
A video had also gone viral wherein the city police personnel could be seen warning people and warning them that they would resort to lathi-charge if people were seen on roads after 11 pm.
