A police official from Telangana's Ranga Reddy district was booked after he let his six-year-old granddaughter drive a car on a busy public road on Sunday. Upon being questioned, the sub-inspector, identified as Pujari Tripathi, said, "It is my choice. Who are you to question me?" The cop claimed that he was preparing his granddaughter for a Guiness World Records to make her the world's youngest driver.
The locals said that the six-year-old was seated behind the wheel while the car moved slowly in the traffic. The police defended the move, claiming it's an automatic car and that the vehicle was within his control.

Cop Gets Suspended
Following the incident, Narsingi Police registered a case against the officer under Section 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sections 180 and 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act, which deal with endangering life and permitting unauthorised driving.

Meanwhile, Telangana Director General of Police CV Anand directed the Cyberabad Police Commissioner, M. Ramesh, to suspend the accused sub-inspector and initiate a departmental inquiry into the matter.
Investigations are underway, and the police department is yet to decide whether to take strict action against the official.

Netizens criticised the cop for the responsible move and questioned the safety of the granddaughter and the motorists on the road. A user said, "Appreciate the public teaching him a lesson. Hope he understood what an idiot he is."
