Two people were killed and nine suffered severe injuries after a chemical reactor exploded at a pharmaceutical company in Pochampalli Mandal in the Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district of Telangana on Friday. The incident had taken place after a chemical reactor inside the unit exploded, triggering a major blaze.
What Happened In The Factory?
Terrified by the loud explosion, residents of neighboring Dothigudem and Anthammagudem villages rushed out of their homes in panic. Upon receiving information, police and fire services personnel rushed to the scene and launched rescue operations
Local residents and labour unions expressed deep outrage, highlighting that this is the second major accident occurring in the same unit within the span of three months. The workers said that non-compliance with basic safety standards by the management led to these recurring tragedies. The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained. The Bhoodan Pochampally police have registered a case and initiated a investigation.
"Two persons died. Nine people were injured, including two who suffered more than 50 per cent burns while seven sustained minor injuries", PTI quoted a police official as saying.

A case has been registered after the blaze and investigations are underway.
