At least eight people have been arrested forplanning a terror attack in India, allegedly with assistance from Pakistan's Lashkar-e-Taiba and Bangladesh-based outfits. The accused were arrested in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal, respectively.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Mizanur Rahman, Mohammed Shabat, Umar, Mohammed Litan, Mohammed Shahid, and Mohammed Ujjal. These suspects were working at garment manufacturing units in Tamil Nadu's Tiruppur district. The remaining two were arrested in West Bengal, The Daily Jagran reported. One of the accused has been identified as a Bangladeshi national.

Fake Identities, Scary Plans..

The accused individuals were using forged Aadhaar cards for identification. Police recovered several mobile phones and at least 16 SIM cards from the scene. Following their arrest, the suspects were handed over to the Delhi Police.

This development comes a day after security sources claimed that the Islamabad-based Lashkar-e-Taiba was planning blasts near the Red Fort in Delhi, a temple in Chandni Chowk, and several other areas across India. Investigations revealed that the group may have been planning an improvised explosive device (IED) attack.
Officials suggest the plot was intended to avenge a suicide blast at a mosque in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, on February 6. That incident killed at least 31 people and left over 160 injured, NDTV reported. The Islamic State group, however, had claimed responsibility for the mosque attack.

 

 'Free Kashmir' Posters Trigger Suspicion 

During the AI Summit in New Delhi, the accused reportedly scouted multiple towns and displayed posters that read "Free Kashmir" and other damning statements at a metro station. After that, they reportedly returned to Tamil Nadu and West Bengal, police told ANI.

Police claim that all of the defendants communicated via social media. Four of the eight traveled to Delhi to display the purported posters.

Following specific intelligence indications regarding potential terror operations being prepared in the nation's capital by Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), officials declared Delhi on high alert on Saturday.

Are There Any Links To Red Fort Blast?

Indian officials are investigating a possible connection between the current terror plan and the Red Fort blast that occurred on November 10, 2025. That car blast killed at least 12 people and left several others critically injured.

The fatal blast was triggered by a car loaded with explosives near the Red Fort Metro Station, which caused fires in multiple nearby vehicles. Umar Mohammad, alias Umar Un Nabi, a doctor at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, was driving the car that exploded.

The event happened on the same day that 2,900 kg of explosives, including ammonium nitrate, were discovered in Faridabad, a neighboring city in Haryana approximately 50 kilometers from the capital. After investigators detained two key members of the module, Dr. Muzammil Shakeel and Dr. Adil Rather, and confiscated the explosives, sources claimed that Umar Mohammad became alarmed and set off the explosion near the Red Fort.
