Thailand has announced the launch of its e-Visa service for Indian citizens starting January 1, offering a convenient 60-day visa exemption for travel to the country. This move aims to streamline the visa application process and enhance travel between Thailand and India, making it easier for Indian nationals to visit for tourism, business, and other purposes. The new policy is expected to boost tourism and foster stronger bilateral ties.
The Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi announced the introduction of Thailand's e-Visa system for Indian citizens, effective January 1, 2025. Along with the e-visa, an offline payment option will also be available. The embassy expressed excitement about the new system, which will streamline the visa process for Indian travellers to Thailand, further strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.

Thailand Extends 60-Day Visa Exemption For Indian Visitors
The Royal Thai Embassy further clarified that applicants must pay a visa fee through offline payment options, which will be detailed by the Embassy and Consulate-Generals. It also stressed that visa fees are non-refundable under all circumstances. The visa processing time will take approximately 14 days from the receipt of the fee.

The Royal Thai Embassy announced that ordinary passport applications submitted through designated visa processing companies will be accepted until December 16, 2024. Diplomatic and official passport applications submitted at the Embassy or Consulate-General will be accepted until December 24, 2024.
The embassy further said, “Non-Thai nationals must apply for all types of visas through the official Thai e-Visa website athttps://www.thaievisa.go.th.”
