The Andhra Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, will complete its first year in office on June 12. The day will be marked with the launch of the ‘Thalliki Vandanam Scheme,’ under which school-going children will get a yearly financial aid from the government. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will release funds to launch the scheme at the event tomorrow.
Thalli Ki Vandanam scheme is one of the ‘Super Six’ promises made by Chandrababu Naidu before coming to power earlier last year. Under the Thalli Ki Vandanam scheme, every school-going student will get Rs 15,000 every year, IANS reported. The money will be directly credited to the bank account of the student’s mother.
A sum of Rs 8,745 crore will be released for the scheme, and approximately 67 lakh students will benefit from it. The Thalli Ki Vandanam scheme will cover 67,27,164 students, an official said. Unlike the previous schemes, the Thalli Ki Vandanam aims to include Class 1 and Intermediate First Year students. Chandrababu Naidu has officially announced to roll out the services from August 15.
According to media reports, as soon as the students are enrolled in schools and the data is sent to the government, the money will be directly credited to the bank account of the student’s mother. The officials have issued a Government Order today, finalising the operational guidelines. The government promised six major schemes under the ‘Super Six’ during the previous year's elections.

The Thalli Ki Vandanam scheme replaced the ‘Jagananna Amma Vodi’, which promised to give Rs 15,000 to poor mothers for sending their children to schools. Apart from Thalli Ki Vandanam, other schemes under the ‘Super Six’ are: the Deepam Scheme, the Aadabidda Nidhi, the Annadatha, and the Yuvashakti and Free Travel in APSRTC.
Under the Deepam scheme, the TDP-Jana Sena-BJP government has promised to give three gas cylinders to beneficiaries. Under the Aadabidda Scheme, the government promises to give Rs 1500 to every woman aged 18-59 every year for their financial independence. Under the Annadatha scheme, the government aims to issue Rs 3,000 per month to the farmers. The government also promised to allow free travel for women in APSRTC buses.
