Delhi Moonrise Timing Today: Married women are observing the sacred fast of Karwa Chauth on Friday, October 10, for the long life and eternal happiness of their husbands. Similar to Sankashti Ganesh Chaturthi, the Karwa Chauth fast is observed without food or water throughout the day. The fast is broken only after sighting the moon at night. Once the moon rises, women offer arghya (ritual offering) to the moon before concluding their fast.

Karwa Chauth is also known as Karaka Chaturthi. According to the Hindu calendar, this fast is observed on Krishna Chaturthi in the month of Kartik. This year, the Chaturthi date is from 10:54 pm on October 9 to 7:38 pm on October 10. Therefore, the Karwa Chauth fast is being observed on October 10.
