In a recent incident in Himachal Pradesh, a tourist was caught attempting to leave without paying their hotel bill in the Lahaul-Spiti region. The tourist’s vehicle was stopped by local police near the Atal Tunnel, and they were only allowed to continue their journey after settling the outstanding payment.

Upon receiving a complaint, the Lahaul-Spiti Police quickly launched an investigation. Officer Himmat Singh, stationed at the North Portal of the Atal Tunnel, identified the vehicle and stopped it after matching the license plate. The tourist was not permitted to pass through the tunnel until the hotel payment was made.

Once the payment was completed via UPI and confirmed, the tourist’s vehicle was cleared to continue, with the issue promptly resolved thanks to the diligent work of the local authorities. The vehicle was then allowed to pass through the Atal Tunnel.

With the start of the winter season, Himachal Pradesh, especially its upper regions, is experiencing a surge in tourism, with the first snowfall of the season attracting many visitors eager to experience the area's scenic beauty. The Lahaul-Spiti district, famous for its stunning landscapes, is particularly popular among travelers seeking winter adventures.
