Train Delayed: With the arrival of the winter season, train delays have been significantly affected, as winter fog has reduced train speeds. Trains are being delayed for several hours, causing considerable inconvenience to passengers. Several services have also been cancelled due to the cold weather.
The fog is having a particularly severe impact on long-distance trains, with delays ranging from five to fourteen hours. As a result, many passengers are opting to cancel their trips. According to a report by Jagran.com, on Saturday alone, 973 passengers cancelled their journeys.
These Trains Were Delayed:
- Train number 04098, the New Delhi-Hasanpur Road special, was delayed by 15 hours.
- Amritsar-Kishanganj special was delayed by 8 hours, while the Raxaul-Udhna special faced an 11-hour delay.
- Train 04095, the Patliputra-Anand Vihar special, was also delayed by 11 hours.
- Hasanpur Road-East Delhi special (train number 04097) was delayed by 8 hours.
- Amritsar-Kishanganj special (train number 05733) was delayed by 8 hours.
- Train 02563, the Barauni-New Delhi special, reached the station with a 6-hour delay.
Passengers have been checking train statuses using mobile apps. Those already at the stations have been seeking updates at the enquiry counters or consulting the information screens. Many passengers, facing prolonged delays, have chosen to cancel their journeys altogether. Some have opted for alternative travel methods to reach their destinations.
