Further intensification is possible as it tracks toward the Indian coast.

Heavy rainfall is forecast for the following districts: Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Tenkasi, Ramanathapuram, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, and Cuddalore. The neighboring Karaikal region in Puducherry is also likely to experience heavy showers.

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for fishermen, advising against venturing into the southeast and southwest Bay of Bengal, including the adjacent Andaman Sea, due to rough seas and squally winds expected over the next two days. Fishermen already at sea have been urged to return to shore as soon as possible to avoid any risks associated with the intensifying weather system.
