Tamil Nadu Rain Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for four districts of Tamil Nadu on Sunday. Along with the rain activities, these regions are also expected to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds, the weather department added. Apart from this, the Western Ghat districts are also likely to experience light to moderate rainfall in the next two days.

Heavy Rain Alert Issued

While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Dindigul and Theni are set to witness very heavy rainfall on October 4. While the fresh rainfall will provide relief from the humidity, it is also expected to cause waterlogging in the lower regions, leading to inconveniences to the commuters.

The IMD further stated that several parts of the Western Ghats districts are also expected to witness light to moderate rainfall. It asserted that similar weather condition will persist in other regions, such as Madurai, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Sivaganga, Pudukkottai, Tiruchirappalli, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Salem, Erode, Namakkal, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri.

Will It Rain In Chennai?

The residents of Chennai are set to experience gentle breeze and cloudy skies throughout the day on Sunday. The parts of city are also expected to witness light to moderate rainfall in evening and night hours. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 32 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 28 degrees Celsius.

IMD Issues Advisory

The residents have been advised to follow the guidelines and limit their outings during the rain activities to ensure safety. Apart from this, the authorities have also warned the fishermen of the coastal regions to avoid financial activities for the next two to three days.

Along with Tamil Nadu, the IMD has also issued rain alert for other southern states, including Telangana, Keralam, and Karnataka.
