Trains Cancelled: With the onset of winter and heavy fog, express trains are running late, causing inconvenience to passengers. The plains of northern India, including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab, are being directly affected by the ongoing snowfall in Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir.
The Mahananda Express, a super-fast and long distance train, which departs from Alipurduar and heads to Old Delhi, arrives at Khurja Junction station at 7 pm. This train was cancelled on Thursday. Other express trains, including the Lichchavi and Gomti, were also delayed.

According to jagran.com, passengers said they faced difficulties due to the cancellation of the Mahananda Express as they had to wait at the station for two to three hours for the evening passenger train to Delhi.
An announcement was made at the station regarding the cancellation of Mahanand and delay in arrival of other trains.

Severe cold, dense fog, and cold wave conditions persist in Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh. Dense fog enveloped Delhi on Friday morning, and the minimum temperature dropped. IMD has issued a yellow alert for cold wave conditions in some parts of Delhi. Severe cold wave conditions persist in many parts of Punjab and Haryana as well. The minimum temperature in Adampur, Punjab, dropped to 2.4 degrees Celsius.
IMD has forecast cold wave conditions to continue for the next few days in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and parts of northern Rajasthan. Dense fog may also affect some areas of Himachal Prades
