Amid the nationwide attention on the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, where a woman planned the killing of her husband during their honeymoon in Meghalaya, another crime linked to a love affair has emerged in Tripura. As per reports, a 23-year-old man was killed and his body was stuffed into a trolley bag before being concealed inside an ice cream freezer.

According to police, cited by PTI, the victim was in a relationship with a 20-year-old woman. However, the woman’s cousin was also romantically attracted towards her and wanted to live with her.

West Tripura SP Kiran Kumar, cited by the news agency, revealed that the victim and the woman had recently had an altercation and were not on speaking terms. The woman’s cousin allegedly conspired with her to kill the youth.

The woman allegedly called the victim to a relative’s house in Tripura’s South Indiranagar on June 8. Her cousin, along with his three accomplices, was already present there. When the victim reached there, they strangled him to death.

Police said that the next day, the accused asked his parents, living in Gandacherra, to come to Agartala and take the trolley bag with them. The SP said that after this, his parents came to Agartala in a car and took the trolley bag along with them. They hid the body in the ice-cream freezer in their shop.

The police began an investigation after the deceased's family filed a missing persons complaint, which led to the accused’s arrest. Based on his confession, the victim's body was retrieved from the freezer on Wednesday. After the post-mortem, the body was handed over to the victim's family.
