Asia's largest Tulip Garden opened to visitors in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden covers 55 hectares and is located on the banks of the Dal Lake in Srinagar, with the Zabarwan Hills in the background. Five new Tulip varieties have been added to the garden's 68 existing varieties, using two lakh bulbs.
Officials from the floriculture department, which maintains the Tulip garden, stated that 17 lakh tulips will bloom in the garden this spring.
Though the tulips in the garden have not yet bloomed, the officials predicted that in another five to seven days, they will begin to bloom and create a captivating display of colour inside the garden.

On Saturday, the Tulip Garden had its grand opening, drawing a sizable crowd of tourists, the majority of whom were from outside the area.
Visitors can anticipate being enthralled by an enchanting assortment of other spring flowers in addition to tulip varieties. Hyacinths, daffodils, muscari, and cyclamens are a few of these.
The largest tulip garden in Asia, in Srinagar, is made more visually appealing by these species of spring flowers.

A big turning point in the history of Jammu and Kashmir's tourism was the creation of the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in 2007. The garden was envisioned as a way to extend the tourism season beyond the traditional summer and winter months, thanks to the visionary efforts of the then-chief minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden: Timings, Ticket Prices
The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden is open to visitors from 8 AM to 7 PM, though daily hours may change depending on the volume of traffic. Last year, adult entry fees were Rs 60, while children's fees were Rs 25.
Travelers can easily reach the garden by road from Sheikh ul Alam International Airport in Srinagar, which is 22 kilometres away, the Srinagar Railway Station, which is 18 kilometres away, and Lalchowk, which is 8 kilometres away.
