Twisha Death Case: The investigation into the much-talked-about Twisha Sharma death case in Bhopal appears to be reaching a decisive turning point after the arrest of her mother-in-law, retired judge Giribala Singh, on Thursday.
31-year-old Twisha was found hanging under suspicious circumstances at her in-laws' home in Katara Hills, Bhopal, on May 12. The death now appeared as no longer merely a suicide but has become a high-profile case riddled with numerous unresolved questions and contradictions. Injuries found on Twisha's body were ante-mortem and could have been caused during a “scuffle or struggle" before her death. This finding has changed the angle of the probe.
A Closer Look At Every Minute Before Her Death
According to sources, after taking over the investigation on the Supreme Court's instructions, the CBI is now re-examining the final hours of Twisha Sharma's life using "Tunnel View Investigation" technology. According to CBI sources, the investigation team is forensically mapping all three floors of the house. CCTV footage, mobile phone records, call detail records (CDRs), Wi-Fi logs, and digital activity are also being examined.
The agency is also investigating who entered and left the house before and after the incident. Suspicious time gaps, contradictions in statements, and unusual activities are being particularly investigated.
Twisha's Chat With Mother Emerges As Key Evidence Against Accused Family
Twisha, who married Samarth Singh in December 2025, sent a WhatsApp message to her mother a few days before her death, expressing her feeling that she was "trapped" in the marriage. She also accused her in-laws of mental torture and dowry harassment.

Delay In FIR
Twisha's father claims that his daughter was being subjected to not only mental but also physical abuse. The family has alleged negligence in the investigation from the beginning. They say that the FIR was filed three days after Twisha's death, which threatens to compromise crucial evidence.
Many Questions Remain Unresolved
The investigation has revealed several issues that have further complicated the case. These include the missing belt during the post-mortem examination, negligence in documenting injuries, discrepancies in height records, contradictions in the FIR, and discrepancies in the timing of CCTV footage.
To find answers to these questions, the CBI is now investigating every aspect at the technical and forensic levels. The investigating agency's focus is now on whether Twisha Sharma's death was a suicide or whether there is a deeper conspiracy behind it.
