Udaipur- Ahmedabad Highway Accident: Four people were killed and several others injured in a road accident on Saturday night in Rishabhdev town along the Udaipur- Ahmedabad National Highway. The collision, involving a tanker, a truck, a jeep and a Bolero, occurred when one of the vehicles attempted to avoid hitting a buffalo that had strayed onto the road.
The incident took place around 8 PM near Mayur Mill. The impact of the crash was so severe that one of the vehicles was completely destroyed and the victims’ bodies were beyond recognition.

According to initial reports, a Bolero returning from Udaipur tried to save a buffalo, but lost control, crossed the divider and overturned into the opposite lane. The four occupants managed to get out of the vehicle and stood on the divider. However, within moments, a speeding trailer coming from the opposite direction rammed into them, crushing all four to death. The force of the impact scattered the remains of the victims on the road, leaving a gruesome scene.

Rishabhdev Police Station Officer Bharat Singh Rajpurohit identified the deceased as Anil (30), son of Moolchand Meena, a resident of Bhorai Ghata in Semari, Salumber; Basanti (54), wife of Moolchand Meena; Jija Devi (24), wife of Jitendra Kumar Katara from Shaktawaton Ka Garha; and Ishwar, son of Dhula Meena from Khema in Dungarpur. Police said the victims were returning home after taking family members to a doctor in Udaipur.
One of the injured, Kailash, son of Ganpatlal from Kishangarh in Ajmer, sustained critical injuries and was referred to a hospital in Udaipur. Following the incident, Sub-Divisional Officer Bhagchand Regar and Station Officer Rajpurohit reached the site with a police team, sent the bodies for post-mortem, and began clearing the wreckage.
The accident led to a long traffic jam on the busy highway, which was eventually cleared late into the night after continuous efforts by the police.
