Udaipur Horror: In a shocking development in the Udaipur suicide incident, the father of the final-year BDS student alleged that the college may have required additional fees for exams, as the final exams were going to be held. Her father told ANI reporters that if he had been informed about the fees, he would have arranged the money and blamed the college for making demands to students instead of parents.

“My daughter was selected for this college through the PMSSS. Everything was going fine. However, the college may have required additional fees for the exams...Her final exams were going to be held...If they (the college administration) had told me, I would have fulfilled their demand. I would have arranged the money anyhow. They would have made their demands to the parents, not to the children...I want justice. Something like this should never happen to any other student,” her father said.
After the incident, the Udaipur Resident Doctors Association staged a protest demanding justice for the final-year student who died by suicide. The college students carried out a protest march at the college and blocked a road outside, demanding action against the teachers mentioned in the note.
According to the officials, a final-year BDS student was found hanging in her private medical college hostel room in Udaipur. The incident took place on Thursday night when Sweta Singh, a final-year medical student from Jammu and Kashmir, took her own life alleging teachers of harassment.
Her roommate allegedly found her hanging, following which the hostel authorities and police officials were alerted. The official said that Sweta alleged harassment from faculty members, accusing them of not conducting exams on time.
The matter is being investigated by the police, and they will take appropriate action based on their findings. The college management is also addressing the situation and will terminate the staff members involved,” the college director said.
SHO Sukher Police Station Ravindra Charan said, “The student's body was transferred to a mortuary, and a postmortem will be conducted after her family members arrive.”
