Udaipur Horror: After Balasore and Greater Noida, another shocking suicide case was reported, which triggered a huge outrage among students and parents . The latest heart wrenching incident happened at a private medical college in Udaipur, in which a medical student killed herself, accusing teachers of harassment. She was found hanging in her hostel room in a private medical college on Thursday. The deceased, identified as Sweta Singh, was a final-year BDS student from Jammu and Kashmir.

Sweta's roommate found her hanging in her room, following which she alerted hostel authorities. Later the college management called the police. In her suicide note, she allegedly accused the faculty of mentally harassing students and not conducting exams on time.

Protest By Medical Students Outside College

Soon after the news about Sweta's demise, students gathered on the campus and held a protest against the college management. Angry students carried out a protest march. The protesting students blocked a road outside, demanding action against the teachers mentioned in the note.

Chairman of Pacific Medical College and Hospital, Rahul Agrawal, arrived at the college and tried to calm the protesting students by assuring them that action would be taken against the accused. He said, "We are deeply saddened by the loss of the student and share the grief of all the children. We will cooperate with the police probe. Action will be taken against those who are named in the suicide note."

The college director also held talks with the students and assured them of strict action against the faculty members involved.

"The matter is being investigated by the police, and they will take appropriate action based on their findings. The college management is also addressing the situation and will terminate the staff members involved," the director told reporters.

SHO Sukher Police Station Ravindra Charan said the student's body has been sent to a mortuary, and a postmortem will be conducted after her family members arrive.

This was the third such shocking suicide case in a month in which a student lost her life due to harassment by the professor. Earlier on July 12, a student at the Balasore college, Odisha, set herself on ablaze on campus and died on the night of July 14, triggering nationwide outrage. Another incident took place in Greater Noida. A girl student of Sharda University died by suicide in the university hostel on July 19. In both cases, the girls alleged that the professors harassed them.
