The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are facing massive backlash after their victory parade celebrations continued inside the Chinnaswamy Stadium even as a deadly stampede unfolded outside, killing at least 11 people and injuring over 30 others. The tragic incident took place during the team’s celebration of their first-ever IPL title win, turning a historic moment into one marked by grief and outrage.

The stampede occurred on Wednesday near the stadium premises, where thousands of fans had gathered for the grand celebration. According to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, 11 people are feared dead and 33 others injured. Several injured individuals were rushed to Bowring and Vaidehi Hospitals, where multiple patients are being treated in intensive care units.

As news of the deaths spread, people across the country took to social media to criticise the team and authorities for what many called an "inhuman" and "insensitive" response to the tragedy.

"Unbelievable! Victory celebration broadcast of RCB parade continues. No mention of stampede. NOT DONE," read a post on X, echoing the shock many felt at the disconnect between the unfolding tragedy and the ongoing celebrations.

"1 parade, 0 brains, & now 7 funerals. What kind of idiots plan a mass celebration without barricades, without strategy? This isn't a celebration gone wrong, this is an administration that went brain-dead," wrote another user, pointing fingers at organisers for failing to implement basic crowd control measures.

Another post said, "The most gut-wrenching aspect of the #ChinnaswamyStadium stampede is the shocking apathy shown—celebrations continued as bodies lay lifeless. Where is our humanity? These young Kannadigas died for nothing, without even respect in death. It's disgraceful, inhuman, and unforgivable. Those responsible must be named, shamed, and held criminally accountable."

One user wrote in frustration, "RCB fan are the most ignorant fans in the world Today due to their ignorance 7 people lost their lives."

Another, Bharat Singh, posted, "Bengaluru stampede death toll rises to 11. The franchise is still celebrating and there hasn’t been even a single condolence message from them. Shameful!!"

A visibly upset user added, "This disconnect is deeply disturbing. @RCBTweets management, your silence and continuation of festivities amidst tragedy is unacceptable. Acknowledge the loss, halt celebrations, and prioritize human lives."

Authorities reported that two bodies are at Bowring Hospital and four at Vaidehi Hospital. Six individuals are in critical condition at Vaidehi ICU, and three others are also being treated there. News agency IANS confirmed two additional deaths through its sources.

Initial investigations suggest the stampede was triggered when a massive crowd surged through multiple gates trying to access the stadium. Overcrowded roads further hampered ambulance movement, slowing down rescue operations.
