In a disturbing incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur district, a young man reportedly woke up to a horrifying discovery his private parts had been surgically removed, and his gender had been forcibly changed. According to officials, he had been allegedly drugged and rendered unconscious before the procedure was carried out without his knowledge or consent.

The shocking case came to light after the victim’s wife filed a police complaint, prompting the arrest of two individuals, including a transgender woman named Rubina. The incident occurred in a village under the jurisdiction of the Patwai police station, Rampur.

As per reports, the victim was associated with a group of transgender dancers and used to perform at local functions. During this time, he became acquainted with Rubina, a resident of Shahabad who originally hailed from Supa village in the same area. Rubina, who was assigned male at birth, had previously undergone gender reassignment surgery, Jagran.com reported.

According to the victim on June 26, he was on his way to attend a dance party in Bareilly’s Aonla area. While passing through Shahabad, where he met Rubina. She took him to her home, where a few others were also present. He was given a drink (Frooti) a packaged mango beverage after which he fell unconscious.

He claims he regained consciousness four days later, still at Rubina’s house, only to find his private part had been surgically removed. In shock, he immediately informed his family, who rushed him to the Shahabad police station. He was then taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC), and later referred to the district hospital for further treatment.

Shahabad Police Station in-charge Pankaj Pant confirmed that an FIR has been lodged based on the wife’s complaint. The accused Rubina and her live-in partner Vikas have both been taken into custody and are currently being interrogated. Authorities are now working to uncover the details of who performed the surgery and where it took place.

Medical experts who examined the victim clarified that the surgery appeared to have been done by a trained hand. Dr R K Chandel, Medical Superintendent at CHC Shahabad, stated that the victim’s genitalia were surgically removed, not mutilated, and the stitches had already healed. He further remarked that such complex gender reassignment surgeries are rarely performed by unqualified individuals due to the significant risks involved.

Investigations are ongoing to identify the medical professional and facility involved in the unauthorised surgery.
