At least one terrorist was killed in the Uri Sector as part of an ongoing anti-infiltration operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, the Indian Army said on Sunday. The operation, codenamed 'Bajrang,' commenced on June 22 along the Line of Control (LoC) based on specific intelligence inputs.
Chinar Corps of the Indian Army shared the news on the social media platform X, stating, “One terrorist has been killed in the ongoing anti-infiltration Operation that was launched on 22 Jun in the Uri Sector; Operations are continuing.” The identity of the deceased infiltrator has not yet been disclosed so far.

The region has a history of frequent skirmishes and infiltration attempts. On Saturday, security forces thwarted an infiltration attempt along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district. Officials reported noticing suspicious movement in the Gohallan area.

When challenged, the militants opened fire, prompting retaliation from the Army, according to officials. The operation is still in progress, with further updates expected as the situation evolves.
