As monsoon activity is at its peak across India, heavy rainfall continues in Uttarakhand, with intense showers reported in various parts of the state, from the mountains to the plains. The weather department has forecast heavy rainfall across the state on Sunday, with an orange and yellow alert districts, indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas.
Begeshwar, Dehradun, On Orange, Chamoli, Others On Yellow Alert
- Orange Alert: Dehradun, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh districts are expected to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall.
- Yellow Alert: Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, and Nainital districts may witness heavy rainfall.
Other districts may also experience intense rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. The heavy rainfall has affected traffic and travel plans, particularly in hilly areas where landslides have been reported.
- On Saturday, Dehradun and surrounding areas received over 50 mm of rainfall, while some parts of the Kumaon region reported up to 80 mm of rainfall.
- The rainfall has caused difficulties in hilly areas, disrupting movement and travel plans.
Uttarakhand Weather Forecast: Heavy Rain To Continue Next 3-4 Days
- The weather department predicts heavy rainfall in several districts over the next three to four days.
- Residents and tourists are advised to stay alert and follow weather advisories to ensure safety.
The hilly areas are still reeling from the impact of the rain, with intermittent showers persisting in the Char Dham and nearby regions. Landslides are disrupting traffic on several roads, and the state can expect more rain over the next three to four days.
