Monsoon is active across the country, with Uttarakhand bearing the brunt of torrential rain. Monsoon activity has wreaked havoc in multiple parts of the state, leading to a day halt in the Amarnath Yatra recently. As per the Meteorological Department, the monsoon activities are likely to reach peak on Sunday and unleash damage.

Uttarakhand Weather Today: Cloud, Sunshine To Take Turns

Most parts of Uttarakhand are expected to experience sunshine today, with partial cloud cover likely. However, Bageshwar may witness heavy showers. A red alert has been issued by the weather department for Sunday and Monday, predicting heavy rainfall.

In Dehradun and other areas, the rainfall pattern has slowed down in recent days. The cloud and sunshine are likely to take turns, with occasional sudden downpours and mostly sunny spells. As a result, temperatures have started rising again.

Uttarakhand Weather Forecast: Red Alert On Sunday And Monday

The Meteorological Centre has issued a red alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in most parts of the state on Sunday and Monday. According to the centre, most districts are expected to experience thunderstorms and intense rainfall, accompanied by lightning, during these two days.

In the Uttarkashi district, eight villages are reeling from the impact of the disaster. Due to rain-related disasters in the Ganga and Yamuna valleys, these villages have been isolated for the past 20 days.
