Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday stated that several states are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. The weather department further stated that multiple northern states, including Delhi, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh, are expected to witness heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and gusty winds until July 23. The continuous rainfall is likely to provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the maximum temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. While the hilly regions are likely to witness issues like landslides, the plain states of the north and the southern states are likely to experience flood-like situations.

The weather department has advised the residents of these states to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences. The IMD stated that several states, including Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim, Manipur, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Karnataka (particularly parts of Shivamogga), Bengal, Gujarat, and Himachal Pradesh, are likely to witness flood-like situations in the upcoming days. Himachal has been severely affected by the continuous rainfall, where more than 100 people have lost their lives in the past few weeks.
