Uttarakhand Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued an orange alert for several districts of Uttarakhand for the next three days. The weather department stated that multiple districts, including Dehradun, Nainital, Champawat, Bageshwar, Pauri Garhwal and Udham Singh Nagar are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. The residents of Dehradun witnessed moderate rainfall in the early hours of Monday, providing much-needed relief from the scorching heat. While the rainfall reduced the temperature, it also led to waterlogging in key areas of the city.

The weather department stated that Dehradun is expected to witness heavy rainfall, along with thunderstorms and gusty winds for the next few days. Earlier on Sunday, the district administration directed the schools to remain closed on Monday to ensure the safety of the students. The IMD also stated that the continuous rainfall is likely to escalate the incidents of landslides in the multiple regions. Several key roads of the state got blocked in the past few days due to landslides.
