Vande Bharat Sleeper Train Launch Update: The wait for the Vande Bharat Sleeper train is likely to get over soon as Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has shared a big update. Vaishnaw has said that one of the trains is ready, while they are waiting for the second to start a simultaneous operation on the same route.
He announced that the second train is expected to arrive by October 15 and the operations will start thereafter. Speaking at a press conference, Vaishnaw emphasized a need to run two trains simultaneously for smooth daily operations between the two end stations.
He said, "We want to launch two sleeper trains simultaneously. Since they are meant for daily service, both rakes must be ready. The second train is expected to arrive by October 15".
Vande Bharat Sleeper Train: Expected Route
The new sleeper train will feature modern interiors, enhanced safety features, along other amenities for passengers, like CCTV cameras, LED screens, automatic doors and advanced fire safety system.
So far, the route for the first Vande Bharat train has not been decided; however, it is expected that the train will be put to run between Delhi and Patna.
The train is expected to cut the travel time between Delhi and Patna to 11 hours. At present, it takes between 12 to 17 hours to travel from one city to another, depending on the type of trains.
The rakes and coaches of the Vande Bharat Sleeper trains are being manufactured by Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) using advanced Integral Coach Factory (ICF) technology.
Top speed, fare
The train will have a top speed of 180 kmph. and is expected to attract 10-15 per cent higher ticket prices that the Rajdhani Express.
