Vice President Election:The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) parliamentary board is likely to meet on August 17 to finalise the NDA's candidate for the vice presidential election. The ruling party has begun the preparation to select the candidate, as the election is scheduled to be held in less than a month. The party has reportedly decided that the candidate will be from the saffron party itself, with names of several current governors in the race. The ruling alliance enjoys a majority in both houses of parliament and is not likely to face tough competition from the opposition. The election is scheduled to be held on September 9, and the last date to fill the nomination is August 21.

Here is the list of probable candidates:

1. VK Saxena: Saxena is currently the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and is considered close to the top leadership of the BJP. He was also very vocal against the AAP government in Delhi, giving an edge to the saffron party in the assembly election.
