Vijayawada-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express via Tirupati Likely To Begin Services From December 10 | Details

Vijayawada- Bengaluru Vande Bharat: South Central Railway is preparing to introduce a new Vande Bharat Express connecting Vijayawada and Bengaluru, with the service expected to begin on December 10. According to early schedules being worked out by the zone, the train is planned to leave Vijayawada at 5.15 AM and reach Bengaluru around 1.15 PM The route will run via Tirupati, linking three major cities with a faster daytime option.

Railway officials said the launch date is likely to be confirmed soon, as final checks and timetable approvals are under way. The new service is aimed at improving connectivity between Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, especially for passengers travelling for work, education and pilgrimage.

Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express Coaches Increased

Meanwhile, SCR has also decided to increase the number of coaches on the Secunderabad–Tirupati Vande Bharat Express. From November 26, the train will operate with 18 AC Chair Cars and 2 Executive Class coaches. The upgrade is intended to handle the rising passenger demand on the busy corridor.

Bengaluru-Ernakulam Vande Bharat

In another development, the Ministry of Railways has cleared a separate Vande Bharat service between KSR Bengaluru and Ernakulam through Coimbatore. The communication issued by the Railway Board on 31 October 2025 said the train will run six days a week, except Wednesdays.

As per the approved timetable, Train No. 26651 will start from Bengaluru at 5.10 AM and reach Ernakulam at 1.50 PM The return service, Train No. 26652, will leave Ernakulam at 2.20 PM and arrive in Bengaluru at 11 PM The train will halt at Krishnarajapuram, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, and Thrissur in both directions.

The Railway Board has directed South Western Railway and Southern Railway to begin operations at the earliest and to publicise the new service widely. An inaugural run may also be arranged before regular trips start.
