Weather Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a complete change in weather conditions in the coming days in North India. As per the weather body the effect of western disturbance can be seen in the Himalayan region of the country from March 12. While heat wave conditions are being witnessed in some parts of Gujarat, snowfall and rain is being witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. As per IMD, there is a possibility of rain, accompanied by lightning and thunder in Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh on March 13 and 14.
North India Weather: Western Disturbances To Bring Rain And Snow
Two active Western Disturbances are influencing weather patterns over northern India. The current system is impacting areas over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and adjoining regions, while a fresh system is expected to approach by the night of March 12. On the occasion of Holi, there may be light rain at some places in Uttarakhand. Rain can occur in Pithoragarh, Chamoli and Rudraprayag. The weather is likely to remain dry in the plain districts.
Northeast India Gears Up For Heavy Rain And Gusty Winds
A cyclonic circulation over Assam is set to influence weather across the northeastern states. Widespread rainfall, lightning, and gusty winds will dominate the region.
South India To Witness Heavy Showers And Thunderstorms
The easterly wave activity is triggering rains in southern parts of the country. South Tamil Nadu and coastal areas will see heavy to very heavy rainfall. Additionally, hot and humid weather is likely to affect Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa, and Coastal Karnataka on select days.
Delhi Weather
A change in weather patterns is anticipated to bring an unforeseen twist to this year's Holi festivities, with MD forecasting light rain in Delhi and other areas of the nation on March 14. According to the forecasts, the country has had dry weather in recent days, but dramatic changes are expected, beginning with the arrival of a western disturbance over the Himalayas.
