Weather Alert: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for lightning, hailstorm and light rain with strong thunder in various areas in Uttarakhand. There may be rain at some places, including Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Uttarkashi, Nainital and Champawat. Additionally, the weather is likely to take a turn in Jammu and Kashmir from April 18. As per the weather body, there may be fresh snowfall and rain in the valley. In view of the western disturbance, there was fresh snowfall in the high mountain areas while there was rain in the lower areas, jagran.com reported.

On Monday, there was bright sunshine in Doon since morning. The maximum temperature of Doon was recorded at 32.4 degrees Celsius, one degree Celsius above normal, and the minimum temperature was recorded at 17.5 degrees Celsius, one degree Celsius above normal.

Uttarakhand Weather: Yellow Alert Issued For Rain

Director of Meteorological Center Bikram Singh said that on Tuesday, there is a possibility of light rain along with thunder and lightning in some areas of Pithoragarh, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Champawat and Nainital districts. The weather may remain dry in other areas. From Wednesday to 18 April, mercury will remain around normal in all districts except Haridwar due to light rain, hailstorm and dense clouds.

Tourists Flock To Nainital

The tourists who had come in large numbers during the five-day weekend have finally returned. The traffic system also appeared normal. The hotels, guest houses and homestays of the city remained packed for the last five days. A large number of tourists returned on Monday, but still more than 50 per cent of the rooms in the hotels were booked. As a precaution, the police stopped the tourist vehicles coming to the city in Rusi One and Rusi Two and sent the tourists through shuttle service.

Delhi Weather

After a dust storm and intermittent rainfall brought the temperature down in Delhi, IMD has issued a fresh heatwave alert in the national capital for the upcoming few days. As per the weather department, the heatwave conditions will start again from Wednesday and will last for three days. During this period, the temperature is expected to reach 42 degrees.

For Tuesday, the weather department has forecast clear skies over the national capital. Moreover, the winds will gust at a speed of 20 to 30 km per hour. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to remain up to 38 and 23 degrees Celsius, respectively.
