Weather News: Jharkhand And Chhattisgarh To Witness Light To Moderate Rain
In Jharkhand, light to moderate rainfall is likely everywhere, with heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated spots, particularly in the south, expected from September 15 to 17. Meanwhile, the weather in Bihar, East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh is expected to follow a similar pattern, with light to moderate rainfall along with heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas during the same period.
The weather department warns that localised flooding of roads, waterlogging in low-lying regions, and the closure of underpasses especially in urban areas are likely. Landslides, reduced visibility due to heavy rain, and traffic disruptions are also expected over the next two days.
Advisory Issued For Fisherman
In response to these severe weather conditions, the IMD has advised fishermen to avoid venturing into the north Bay of Bengal until Monday. The public is also urged to stay away from waterlogged areas and to check for traffic congestion before embarking on any travel.
The cause of this extreme weather is attributed to a deep depression that has formed over Gangetic West Bengal. This depression is expected to move slowly and maintain its intensity throughout Sunday before gradually weakening into a regular depression over the next 24 hours.
