Weather Update:  The national capital witnessed rain in several areas on Monday, July 15. Some locations, including Civil Lines, reported waterlogging as well. A minimum temperature of 29°C was recorded in the city, which is 1.8 degrees Celsius higher than the seasonal normal, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

The relative humidity was recorded at 76 percent around 8:30 AM. With a high temperature of 37.1 degrees Celsius the day before, it was two degrees warmer than the seasonal normal.

Four Maharashtra districts — Satara, Kolhapur, Sindhudurg, and Ratnagiri — have been placed on red alert owing to excessive rains.

There is an orange alert in Thane, Raigad, and Pune, and a yellow alert in Mumbai and Palghar. The Mumbai suburbs are severely flooded as a result of the persistent rain and thunderstorms.

Red Alert For Karnataka, Kerala And Konkan Goa

Extremely heavy rains are expected to occur in isolated areas across the Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra's ghat regions, South and Coastal Karnataka, and Kerala.

"The monsoon is shifting downward from today. We are issuing a red alert for coastal Karnataka, Kerala, and Konkan Goa for the coming days. There may be more than 20 cm of rain there," IMD scientist Naresh Kumar told ANI.

The Goa education department stated on July 14 that schools up to Class 12 would be closed on July 15 due to heavy rain and an IMD red alert in numerous parts of the state.

Malappuram, Kannur, and Kasaragod in Kerala were also under a red warning for July 15, while Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode, and Wayanad were under an orange alert. On July 15, six districts in Kerala would remain closed to schools and other institutions due to heavy rain and thunderstorms.
