Northwest India is likely to witness a fresh spell of heatwave from today, IMD said on Saturday. Besides, a warning of flash floods has been issued in coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Konkan and Goa in the next 24 hours. Parts of eastern and east-central India, including Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, are likely to see a fresh onset of heatwave.
Heavy rainfall over Maharashtra and coastal and north interior Karnataka is expected in the next five days, with isolated extremely heavy rain anticipated in Maharashtra from June 8 to 11 and in Karnataka on June 8 and 9.
A risk of flash floods over coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Konkan and Goa in the next 24 hours has been sounded by the IMD. Low-lying areas of this region are expected to be inundated due to excessive rains.
On Friday, maximum temperatures largely ranged between 43 and 46 degrees in regions such as southern Haryana, Delhi, southern Uttar Pradesh, southeastern Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and southwestern Bihar. These temperatures were 2 to 4 degrees above normal. The highest recorded maximum temperature was 45.8 degrees in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.
The southwest monsoon progressed into additional areas of the central Arabian Sea, southern Maharashtra, Telangana, parts of southern Chhattisgarh, southern Odisha, and more regions of coastal Andhra Pradesh on June 8. Conditions are conducive for the monsoon to advance further into the remaining parts of the central Arabian Sea, and more areas of Maharashtra, including Mumbai, and Telangana within the next two to three days.

Delhi Weather:
According to the weather department, due to the progression of the western disturbance, Delhi will experience partly cloudy skies on Sunday as well. Meanwhile, the weather department has issued a yellow alert from Monday to Wednesday. According to the weather department, the maximum temperature recorded in Delhi was 41.4 degrees Celsius, which is one degree Celsius below normal. The minimum temperature recorded was 30 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees Celsius above normal.
