The period of relief in Delhi’s weather has come to an end as the temperature in the national capital is expected to surge in the days to come. The intense sunlight and severe heatwave is likely to persist for the next five days. However, isolated rain may occur on Monday. On Sunday, bright and scorching sunlight was observed throughout the day. The maximum temperature recorded was one degree below normal at 36.8 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was one degree above normal at 24.0 degrees Celsius.

The humidity level ranged from 59 to 30 per cent. The Sports Complex in Delhi remained the hottest area, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 39.3 degrees Celsius.

As per the weather department, the weather will be partially cloudy on Monday. Winds with speeds ranging from 25 to 35 kilometres per hour are expected. There is a possibility of isolated rainfall in some areas.

The maximum and minimum temperatures could be around 38 and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively. However, the sky will clear from Tuesday onwards. Over the next five days, there will be a continuous increase in temperature in Delhi, and it could exceed 40 degrees Celsius.

Delhi AQI:

Meanwhile, the air quality in Delhi is currently clear. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 138 on Sunday. Air in this category is classified as 'moderate'. Currently, there are no expectations of significant changes in this regard.

Rain Warning In Kerala, Telangana and North-East:

As per the IMD, moderate spells of rain accompanied by thunderstorms, gusty winds, and lightning are expected over South Kerala, Southeast Telangana, East Meghalaya, and adjoining Southeast Assam and Manipur today due to intense to very intense convection in these areas.

Besides, the heatwave is likely to intensify in West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha.
