Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand, are likely to witness heavy rainfall on the weekends. As per the weather department, wind speeds in many regions can reach 60 to 80 kilometers per hour, bringing down the temperature by at least two degrees Celsius. The continuous rainfall is likely to provide relief to people from the scorching heat, the IMD stated. The residents have been advised to follow the guidelines and stay updated.
As per the weather department, the southwest monsoon has advanced into some more regions of Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Bihar. The IMD also predicted that the monsoon would arrive in numerous districts of Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh within the next 2-3 days. The heavy rainfall is also likely to cause waterlogging, leading to inconveniences, especially to the farmers.
Along with rainfall, strong thunderstorms, lightning, hail, and winds of up to 60 to 80 kilometers per hour are expected in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. Apart from this, heavy to very heavy rainfall warnings have been issued for several states, including Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, and Meghalaya.
The weather department has predicted light rain and strong winds of up to 60 to 70 kilometers per hour in several districts of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. However, it further warned that severe heat is likely to persist in approximately 50 districts and heat waves are likely in more than two dozen districts from Monday.

The IMD stated that several districts of Bihar, including Patna, East Champaran, West Champaran, Gopalganj, Madhubani, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Saran, Siwan, and Vaishali, are also likely to witness rainfall. The farmers of these districts have been advised to protect their crops and limit their outings during the rain.
