Weather Update Today: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the withdrawal of the monsoon has begun across the country, but heavy rainfall continues to disrupt life in several regions. Cloudburst incidents remain frequent in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, while Maharashtra is also witnessing persistent heavy rains, affecting daily life. In Rajasthan, despite the monsoon bidding farewell, many districts have received significant rainfall, and an alert has been issued for eight districts over the weekend. Drizzle may continue towards the end of the week.
Meanwhile, a new low-pressure area is expected to develop over the Bay of Bengal near the coasts of Myanmar and Bangladesh around September 25. This system could bring heavy rainfall to Odisha from September 23 to 26, and to parts of Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh between September 24 and 26. The northeastern states are also likely to receive heavy rain over the next 4-5 days.
Delhi-NCR Weather
In Delhi-NCR, there is no sign of relief from the heat and humidity. The IMD reports no major temperature change over the past 24 hours, and the sky is expected to remain clear until September 23. As a result, residents may continue to experience humid conditions. On September 21, the minimum temperature is expected to be 1–2°C higher than normal.
Uttar Pradesh Weather
Uttar Pradesh has seen light rainfall in several districts, including the capital Lucknow. However, no rain is forecast in the state until September 25. During this period, western UP is expected to remain completely dry, which may lead to higher heat intensity in the region compared to eastern UP.
Bihar Weather
In Bihar, many areas are expected to receive heavy rain today, with the IMD confirming that certain regions had already experienced significant rainfall by September 20.
Weather In Uttarakhand And Himachal Pradesh
In the hilly regions of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, the weather continues to fluctuate rapidly, leaving local residents uncertain, sunshine one moment and overcast skies the next. In Uttarakhand, some respite from rainfall is expected over the next three days. However, isolated showers may still occur in certain areas today. The IMD has issued an alert for heavy rain and lightning in several districts including Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Nainital, and Champawat from September 24 onward.
The situation remains serious in Himachal Pradesh as well. Cloudburst incidents continue unabated, with reports of landslides from multiple locations. Persistent rainfall has significantly disrupted normal life, and the administration has urged residents to stay alert and follow safety advisories.
