Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday stated that the weather conditions in several states are likely to change in the upcoming few days. The weather department informed that the multiple northern states are expected to experience light to heavy rainfall in the next few days. The rainfall is likely to reduce the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius, providing major relief from the scorching heat. It further stated that the western and southern states are likely to continue receiving rainfall till June 18. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

The weather department stated that several parts of Delhi-NCR received light to moderate rainfall in the early hours of Sunday. The rainfall was accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms, and it provided much-needed relief from the heat. The weather department stated that the residents of the national capital witnessed the heavy wind with a speed of 80 to 100 kmph, and trees have broken and fallen on roads in many regions.

The IMD stated that the city is likely to experience rainfall for the next two to three days. However, it clarified that there will be no long-term relief from the heat. The weather department also stated that the severe heat will continue to trouble the residents of Haryana and Rajasthan. 

Earlier on Saturday, the weather department stated that several western and southern states are expected to receive light to heavy rainfall in the upcoming few days. It stated that multiple states, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, are likely to experience rainfall, providing major relief from the scorching heat.

The weather department stated that while the coastal regions are likely to witness heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and gusty winds, the other districts are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall. Apart from this, parts of Odisha, Bihar, and West Bengal are also likely to receive rainfall for the next few days.
