Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday stated that several southern and eastern states are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. While the hilly regions are expected to receive snowfall, the coastal regions are likely to witness heavy rain, along with thunderstorms and gusty winds. The temperature in the northern states is likely to significantly drop, including in the national capital, Delhi. The IMD stated that the continuous rainfall is likely to lead to situations like waterlogging and power outages in several key cities. It further advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid inconveniences.

Delhi, UP Residents To Witness Cold Wave

The weather department stated that the residents of several northern states, including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh, are likely to witness a cold wave in the upcoming weeks. It further stated that the temperature is likely to significantly drop, leading to inconveniences in the hilly regions.

The weather department also stated that while the Cyclone Montha has weakened, its impact remains in central Chhattisgarh and surrounding areas. It further stated that several districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Mau, Azamgarh, Varanasi, and Prayagraj, are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall on Saturday.

Rain Alert In Gujarat

The weather department stated that light to moderate rainfall is expected in several western regions, including Gujarat, Saurashtra, and Kutch. Apart from rainfall, these regions are also likely to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds on November 1 and in the upcoming days. Saurashtra and Kutch are expected to be among the hardest-hit areas, with heavy rainfall and strong surface winds expected.

The IMD has advised the fishermen of the coastal regions to follow the guidelines and maintain a distance from the water bodies to avoid any inconveniences.
