Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the temperature in several northern states is likely to drop in the upcoming days. The weather department also said that these states are also expected to experience a cold wave and dense fog, especially in the early hours. While the hilly regions are likely to witness snowfall in the upcoming days, the coastal regions are set to experience light to moderate rain. The continuous rainfall is likely to lead to issues like waterlogging and power outages in many regions. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

The weather department stated that the residents of Delhi and nearby cities are likely to witness a significant drop in temperature in the upcoming days. It asserted that the minimum temperature is likely to be calculated at 6 degrees Celsius, leading to inconveniences. The air quality of the national capital is not likely to improve in the upcoming days. Apart from this, the western districts of Uttar Pradesh are also set to experience a drop in temperature by two to three degrees Celsius.

The IMD stated that the minimum temperature in several states, including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan, remained around 7 and 8 degrees Celsius. It stated that the cold wave may intensify in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and various parts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. The lowered visibility in the early hours is expected to lead to inconveniences for the commuters.

The coastal regions of several southern states, including Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, are expected to witness light to moderate rainfall for the next few days. The IMD stated that along with the rainfall, these regions are also likely to experience thunderstorms and lightning. It further advised the fishermen to maintain a distance from the water bodies to avoid inconveniences.
