Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday stated that several states are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. The weather department informed that multiple northern states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttarakhand, are likely to receive rainfall in the upcoming days. Apart from rainfall, several regions of these states are also expected to experience thunderstorms and gusty winds. The continuous rainfall is likely to provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. The IMD has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
While providing details, the weather department stated that Delhi-NCR is likely to witness light rain, along with a gentle breeze, in the upcoming days. While the rainfall is expected to provide relief from heat, it might lead to other issues such as waterlogging and power outages. Apart from this, the hilly regions are also likely to witness rainfall for the next few days. The rainfall has led to the deaths of more than 100 people and damage to key infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh in the past few weeks.
The IMD on Saturday stated that several districts of Bihar are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall until July 22. The weather department stated that these districts are likely to receive heavy rainfall for the next two days. The capital city, Patna, and other nearby districts are also expected to witness light to moderate rainfall for the next few days.
