Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday stated that several states are set to receive light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. The weather department stated that the rainfall is likely to provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. It stated that apart from the rainfall, the western and southern states are also likely to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds with speeds of 50-60 kmph. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

While providing details, the weather department stated that Delhi-NCR is likely to receive heavy rainfall on Monday. Along with rainfall, the residents of the national capital are expected to witness gusty winds too. While the maximum temperature of Delhi is likely to be calculated at 33 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 27 degrees Celsius. The IMD further stated that apart from Delhi, several other northern states, including Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana, are also likely to witness rainfall.

While the rainfall is likely to provide relief from the heat, it might lead to other issues, including waterlogging and power outages. The weather department issued thunderstorm and lightning warnings for many western districts of Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming days.

The IMD further stated that several districts of Bihar, including Banka, Bodh Gaya, Buxar, Gaya, Hajipur, Motihari, Nalanda, Purnia, and Sasaram. Farmers in these states are likely to benefit from the rainfall, but we advise them to refrain from financial activities during this period.

The weather department also stated that several western and southern states, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, are also set to receive light to heavy rainfall for the next few days.
