Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday stated that several northern states are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall in the upcoming few days. The weather department stated that the rainfall is likely to provide relief from the scorching heat in multiple states, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. The continuous rainfall and landslides have led to the deaths of at least 75 people in Himachal Pradesh. Apart from this, the southern and western states are likely to continue receiving rainfall at least until July 10. The weather department has advised the residents of these states to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid inconveniences.
The residents of Delhi-NCR received moderate rainfall in the early hours of Monday, providing much-needed relief from the heat. While the national capital had witnessed rainfall on Sunday, the temperature had increased in the later parts of the day. The weather department stated that the Delhi-NCR will continue to witness light to heavy rainfall in the upcoming few days.

“Scattered moderate to heavy rains with thunderstorms will occur in Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Noida, Palwal, Gurgaon, Baghpat, Parts of Delhi, East Delhi, Jhajjar and nearby areas in the next 2 hours as the axis will shift south once again," the IMD had stated in a post on X.
Apart from this, several other northern states, including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh, are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall on Monday. The weather department has stated that these states are likely to witness rainfall for at least a week.
Rain alerts have been issued for several other states, including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh. The weather department has advised the fishermen to limit their financial activities during the rainfall to avoid any inconveniences.
