Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday stated that Delhi-NCR will experience cloudy skies with a gentle breeze in the upcoming few days, providing relief from the scorching heat. The weather department stated that several regions of Delhi witnessed light rain and cloudy skies on Saturday, leading to a decrease in temperature. While the maximum temperature was recorded 2.7 degrees Celsius more than usual, the IMD assured that the national capital will not experience a heat wave, at least for the next week.

However, the weather department has issued an alert for heavy storms for multiple districts of Uttar Pradesh. While these districts are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall in the upcoming few days, the wind will blow at the speed of 30 to 40 kmph.

It further stated that the state will continue to experience similar weather conditions for the upcoming few days. Earlier on Friday, several districts of the western region of the state received light to heavy rainfall, providing a major relief from the heat.

Storm Alert Issued For These Districts 

While providing details, the IMD stated that several districts, including Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Bhadohi, Jaunpur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Rural, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Bagpat, Meerut, Etawah, Auraiya, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Jalaun, and Jalaun, are likely to witness the storm along with light to heavy rainfall.

Storm, Heavy Rain Likely In Bengal

Apart from this, the IMD stated that several districts of West Bengal are likely to experience storms and heavy rain on Sunday. The weather department stated that along with the capital city Kolkata, the storm and rain are likely to affect most of the South and North Bengal districts, including Howrah, Nadia, and North 24 Parganas. Residents of these districts got relief from the scorching heat due to the rainfall in the past few days.
