Due to a low-pressure system currently present over the Bay of Bengal, rainfall continues in Jharkhand and Odisha, though it may decrease today. A new intense rainfall zone has formed over Madhya Pradesh, eastern Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Heavy rainfall is likely to continue over the northeastern states and along the western coast. A low-pressure area currently lies near Haryana and a trough line extends from Punjab to Vidarbha. Due to its influence, widespread heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is likely over a large area, from Delhi to Madhya Pradesh. For the next three to four days, Delhi-NCR, Punjab and Haryana are expected to witness heavy rainfall.
This includes regions from Delhi to Madhya Pradesh. For the next three to four days, much of Punjab is expected to face severe rainfall conditions. A heavy rainfall alert has been issued for the next three days in Haryana and the NCR.
The northern hills are also unlikely to get relief from the rain. IMD alerted that several districts of Jammu and Kashmir are expected to receive extremely heavy rainfall over the next three days.
