Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the northern states are set to witness cold waves and fog for the next few days. The weather department stated that fresh snowfall in the hilly states has led to a drop in temperature in several states, including Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh. The presence of fog will continue to disrupt the flight and train services in these states, leading to inconveniences for the passengers. The weather department has advised the tourists to follow the guidelines and plan their travel accordingly, as heavy snowfall has caused heavy traffic congestion in the key cities.
Delhi-NCR Weather
The capital city witnessed rainfall on Friday, leading to a dip in the temperature by around two degrees Celsius. The weather department has stated that the city will continue to witness a cold wave and fog for the next few days. Apart from this, the air quality marginally improved due to the rain; however, it is likely to remain in the poor category in the upcoming days.
Cold Wave In Punjab, Haryana
The weather department has stated that the presence of fog has severely affected the visibility, leading to inconveniences for the daily commuters. It further stated that the temperature is likely to fall, especially in the early morning and night hours, due to light rain. The IMD has advised the residents to limit their outings in the early hours to avoid inconveniences.
Rajasthan Weather
A fresh western disturbance is expected to affect Rajasthan in the upcoming days, leading to light to moderate rainfall in several regions around January 28. However, the temperature is likely to gradually increase from the first week of February. Apart from this, the other states, including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Uttar Pradesh, are also set to witness a cold wave for the next few days.
