Delhi AQI: Air Quality Improves To 'Moderate' Category At 151 After Rainfall Brings Relief; IMD Issues Rain Alert

Delhi Weather And AQI Today: The national capital’s air quality improved to the moderate category, with an AQI of 151 recorded at 7 am on Sunday, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). After nearly three-and-a-half months, rainfall brought some respite from the prolonged spell of hazardous air, while other monitoring stations recorded air quality levels ranging between poor and moderate.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast shallow to moderate fog during the morning hours on January 25, with maximum temperatures hovering around 18 to 20 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures between 4 and 6 degrees Celsius.

Delhi Area-Wise AQI 

According to an analysis by the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA), the capital last recorded moderate air quality on October 13, 2025, when the Air Quality Index (AQI) was 189.

Greater Noida recorded an AQI of 151, Noida 132 , Gurugram 187, Faridabad 121, Ghaziabad 164, and Muzaffarnagar 101.

Among Delhi stations, Anand Vihar recorded 224, Jahangirpuri 160, Wazirpur 214, Chandni Chowk 189, Nehru Nagar 381, Patparganj 141, Rohini 151, RK Puram 148, IGI Airport (T3) 140, IIT Delhi 147, Dwarka Sector-8 165, Narela 164, Punjabi Bagh 153, Shadipur 136, and ITO 331.

On Jan 25, the maximum temperature is expected to range between 18-20 degree celsius, while the minimum will remain around 04-06 degree celsius. Northwesterly winds are likely to blow at 10-15 kmph initially, gradually easing to 5-10 kmph. The sky will be partly cloudy, with shallow to moderate fog likely during the morning hours.

On Jan 26, the maximum temperature is likely to be between 19-21 degree celsius, while the minimum may range from 04-06 degree celsius. Winds are expected to remain light, blowing northwesterly at 0-5 kmph initially and later shifting to northerly to northeasterly at 5-10 kmph. The sky will be partly cloudy, with shallow to moderate fog likely during the morning hours.

On Jan 27, the maximum temperature is expected to range between 20-22 degree celsius, while the minimum may remain around 08-10 degree celsius. Southeasterly winds are likely to blow at 10-15 kmph, with gusts reaching 15-20 kmph. The sky will remain generally cloudy, with one or two spells of light rain accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning, along with gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph, likely from early morning to forenoon. Another spell of very light to light rain is expected towards the afternoon or evening hours.

On Jan 28, temperatures are likely to range between 19-21 degree celsius, with the minimum around 11-13 degree celsius. Winds will be light to moderate, mainly northeasterly to northerly at 5-10 kmph. The sky will remain generally cloudy, with shallow to moderate fog during the morning hours.

On Jan 29, the maximum temperature is expected to hover between 19-21 degree celsius, while the minimum may range from 08-10 degree celsius. Northwesterly winds are likely at 5-10 kmph, gradually becoming light at 0-5 kmph. The sky will remain generally cloudy, with shallow to moderate fog during the morning hours.
