Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the temperature in the northern states is set to drop significantly in the upcoming days. While the residents have been witnessing cold in the morning and evening hours, the overall temperature will also fall. The weather department stated that the hilly regions are set to witness snowfall, leading to the temperature dip in the nearby states. It also emphasised that several states are also likely to experience a cold wave for the next few days, adding that the southern and western states are also likely to witness rainfall. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
Delhi-NCR: Air Quality Worsens
The Air Quality Index (AQI) of several regions of Delhi surpassed the 400 mark on Saturday, leading to poor visibility and health issues. According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, Delhi’s 24-hour average AQI stood at 361 at 4 PM. The temperature of the national capital is likely to drop in the upcoming days; however, the residents are not expected to get relief from the pollution in the upcoming weeks. The weather department has advised the residents to limit their outings and wear masks while going out.
Temperature To Drop In UP, Bihar
The weather department stated that the residents of several northern states, including poll-bound Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana, are likely to witness cold, especially during the morning and evening hours. It further stated that the temperature will drop in the upcoming days, leading to inconveniences for the residents.
Hilly States To Witness Snowfall
The IMD also stated that the hilly states, including Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir, are set to witness snowfall for the next few days. The district administrations of these states have been advised to stay on alert.
