The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain and snowfall in parts of Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh between January 19 and 24. At the same time, severe cold wave conditions are expected to persist across 13 North Indian states over the coming weeks.
The weather department has also predicted moderate rainfall in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi and Rajasthan between January 22 and 24.
Here is a state-wise overview of weather conditions across North India.
Delhi Weather
Delhi remained shrouded in dense fog from Sunday morning, with a gradual change in conditions expected from January 19. While some areas may see light fog during morning hours, others could continue to experience dense patches. Skies are likely to remain partly cloudy on Monday, with light north-easterly winds adding to the chill. The minimum temperature is expected to rise gradually from January 20.

Uttar Pradesh Weather
Light to moderate rainfall is likely in parts of Uttar Pradesh between January 22 and 24. However, temperatures are expected to remain low over the next five days. Dense to very dense fog is forecast for the next two to three days, which may significantly affect visibility.
Bihar Weather
Bihar is expected to witness dense to very dense fog over the next two to three days. Despite this, minimum temperatures may rise gradually by around two to three degrees Celsius. No rainfall or cold wave warnings have been issued for the state at present.
Rajasthan Weather
Parts of Rajasthan are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall between January 22 and 24, with thunderstorms possible in some areas on January 22 and 23. Dense fog is also expected during the morning and night hours on January 19.
Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh Weather
A change in weather conditions is likely across Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh in the coming days. Light to moderate rainfall is forecast in parts of the region between January 22 and 24, while dense fog is expected during the morning and night hours on January 19.
Uttarakhand Weather
Uttarakhand is expected to experience light snowfall in the higher reaches, with fog and mist in the plains. The IMD has forecast light to moderate rain and snowfall at a few locations on January 21 and 22, followed by rainfall across most parts of the state between January 23 and 24.

Madhya Pradesh Weather
Cold wave conditions are likely to continue in parts of the Rewa, Shahdol and Jabalpur divisions, while dense fog is expected in the Gwalior, Chambal and Sagar divisions. From Monday, some areas of Madhya Pradesh may also witness cloudy conditions.
