The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts a mix of rising temperatures and potential rain across various regions. The plains are experiencing a steady increase in temperature post-Holi, with Delhi’s mercury levels also increasing. However, cloudy weather is expected today in the capital.
Eastern and Northeastern states are likely to witness light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms, particularly in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim and the Western Himalayan region. In addition, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is predicted in Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand.
Light rain was witnessed in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Western Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours, with predictions of light to moderate rain and thundershowers in the coming two days.
Maximum temperatures in South Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and other southern states are hovering between 36-40 degrees Celsius, slightly above the seasonal average. The forecast indicates a rise in temperatures in isolated areas of Odisha, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, with hot conditions expected in Telangana and surrounding regions until March 29.
Skymet Weather suggests scattered light rain in the Western Himalayan region today, with an increase expected over the next few days. Isolated heavy rainfall or snowfall is also possible in Arunachal Pradesh, while light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur in Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand.
